Week 72: God is in the details

Bom dia!!

One night after a lesson Sister Hinton and I were walking home and we had to make a little detour from the route we usually take. We were almost at our house when we heard someone behind us say, "are you Mormons??" We turned around and saw this guy sitting on his motorcycle and we started talking with him! He told us that he had just recently moved to Louveira from another state in Brasil where he had met with missionaries, and he didn't know there was a chapel here in Louveira until he saw and recognized our name tags. We were able to get his phone number and we invited him to come to church with us. If we hadn't taken that little detour, we probably never would have run into him! God is in the details!

We decided this week to start looking through the physical area books that are in our apartment to try and find some new people to teach. We noticed that the paper area books hadn't been transferred over when the whole system went digital, so we figured there would be some people who had gotten lost! We made some phone calls and we were able to find some new people to teach! 

It is also springtime in Brazil, which means there are lots of fun new bugs out. I attached some pictures of a few of my favorites :)

Hello everyone!!!! I have to apologize for not writing last week! I had the amazing opportunity to go to Medford and go to the temple! I am so thankful for temples and how they help us feel God's love for us! It was also awesome that I got to see my parents again for a little bit! Also Medford has an In n Out so it was overall a great day! In terms of people we are teaching we have been meeting with Deb for the past couple of weeks. In the past she has been meeting with Elders so we're the first Sisters she has met with. Deb told us she really liked meeting with Sisters because she felt she could open up and talk to us a lot more which was so good to hear! Originally she told the elders she no longer wanted to talk to missionaries because of all the switching that's been going on so I'm thankful Deb gave us a chance. Week 34: too many miracles

Olááá!!!! As the subject suggests, this week has been so so full of miracles. But the biggest miracle of all has to be our friend Zoe has decided she is going to be baptized on February 27!! We've only taught her for about a week now, but she is so prepared. We taught her the Restoration on Tuesday and I was able to tell her about Joseph Smith's first vision. Right after I finished, she looked at me with a smile so big I could see it through her mask and she said, "wow, that is amazing." Our next lesson with her was on Saturday and she told us she had prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Mormon was true and she had this overwhelming sense of peace. She read the Book of Mormon every single day since we'd last met, and she absolutely loves it. We invited her to be baptized, and she said yes!! Week 28: Staying in Springfield!

Hello everyone!  It was another crazy busy week here in Springfield! We had Zone Conference and our Mission President talked to us about the importance of having hope. We talked about how hope is an abiding trust in the Lord and that He will fulfill His promises! In times like these, we can always trust that if we are obedient and follow God's commandments, we can expect blessings! This message was extremely helpful to our friend Eve. She's had a pretty rough life, but when we talk to her about hope in Jesus Christ and how He can help her in any circumstance, there is a noticeable change in her. Hope is powerful! Also, I am not getting transferred! All three of us were really worried we were going to be split up because of all the craziness with other missionaries going home before Christmas.
