Week 70: Splits, Salgados and Sixteen Months
Bom dia!
This week went by too fast! We had a fantastic conference weekend and five of our friends tuned in to watch. They all loved it, some are even asking when they can watch again! I am so grateful for the opportunity we have to hear the words of our living prophet.
We also went on our first round of splits. Sister Danielson and Sister Ursulino came to visit us here in Louveira. We had a bunch of lessons planed, but unfortunately at the last minute all of them fell through. So that meant that we got to go out and street contact for the afternoon. I felt really bad about it at the start. Usually splits are days that I try and pack full of activities and lessons. But, Sister Ursulino and I saw so many miracles. We stopped to talk with one lady who was working in her salgado shop and we shared a scripture from the Book of Mormon with her. She started crying and told us she felt we had been sent to talk with her. We left her with a Book of Mormon and she even gave us a salgadinho to take with us. We were able to talk with so many other amazing people, too. It is amazing how God works, having our original plans fall through opened up a way for us to find new people.
I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to be serving a mission right now. Yesterday marked 6 months since I stepped off the plane in Brasil and 16 months since I started my mission. I am beyond grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the power it has to change people. Being a missionary is amazing because you get a front row seat to the greatest miracle-watching Jesus Christ and His restored gospel change people's lives. He's changing mine.
I love you all and I hope you have a fantastic week!
Abraços!!
