Week 61: Nutella makes everything better

Boa tarde galera!!

A member brought us Nutella, which makes pão de queijo 10x better. And French toast. And just about everything. Nutella is really expensive here, so it was super awesome that this member bought some for us!

This week was pretty great! We put our friend Rita on date for August 14 and our other friend Anderson is so close to baptism. We taught him the Word of Wisdom and he has such a strong desire to quit smoking and drinking coffee. I have faith that he will be able to do it! We did a lot of contacting this week too as our teaching pool has gotten progressively smaller and I had some awesome experiences that really strengthened my testimony of the power of the Holy Ghost.

This week we were taking an Uber to the mission office and the subject came up that I am not from Brazil (as it usually does thanks to my awesome accent). When our driver found out that my companion is from Brazil and I'm from the US, he said, "Wow, that is just the most beautiful thing I've ever heard! You guys are from two different countries, but now you are here in Valinhos together! I am going to have an awesome story to tell my wife tonight!" So tender. He was way cooler than our other driver who went 100 km/hr in a 30 km/hr zone....

2. The Nutella. Also, enjoy my giant jar of peanut butter which is almost gone. I tried the Brazilian equivalent, not at all the same which is sad.

5. It was cold this week, but you already know I'm still wearing my chacos

Weeks 16 & 17: Temples and Car Washes!!

Hello everyone!!!! I have to apologize for not writing last week! I had the amazing opportunity to go to Medford and go to the temple! I am so thankful for temples and how they help us feel God's love for us! It was also awesome that I got to see my parents again for a little bit! Also Medford has an In n Out so it was overall a great day! In terms of people we are teaching we have been meeting with Deb for the past couple of weeks. In the past she has been meeting with Elders so we're the first Sisters she has met with. Deb told us she really liked meeting with Sisters because she felt she could open up and talk to us a lot more which was so good to hear! Originally she told the elders she no longer wanted to talk to missionaries because of all the switching that's been going on so I'm thankful Deb gave us a chance. Week 34: too many miracles

Olááá!!!! As the subject suggests, this week has been so so full of miracles. But the biggest miracle of all has to be our friend Zoe has decided she is going to be baptized on February 27!! We've only taught her for about a week now, but she is so prepared. We taught her the Restoration on Tuesday and I was able to tell her about Joseph Smith's first vision. Right after I finished, she looked at me with a smile so big I could see it through her mask and she said, "wow, that is amazing." Our next lesson with her was on Saturday and she told us she had prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Mormon was true and she had this overwhelming sense of peace. She read the Book of Mormon every single day since we'd last met, and she absolutely loves it. We invited her to be baptized, and she said yes!! Week 28: Staying in Springfield!

Hello everyone!  It was another crazy busy week here in Springfield! We had Zone Conference and our Mission President talked to us about the importance of having hope. We talked about how hope is an abiding trust in the Lord and that He will fulfill His promises! In times like these, we can always trust that if we are obedient and follow God's commandments, we can expect blessings! This message was extremely helpful to our friend Eve. She's had a pretty rough life, but when we talk to her about hope in Jesus Christ and how He can help her in any circumstance, there is a noticeable change in her. Hope is powerful! Also, I am not getting transferred! All three of us were really worried we were going to be split up because of all the craziness with other missionaries going home before Christmas. Thankfully, we all get to stay together for at least two more weeks and spend Christmas together!! I would love to receive any Christmas cards, and thanks to all those who have already sen...
