Week 58: Triooooo with duas gringasss

Bom dia a todos!!

This week was seriously one of the busiest weeks of my whole mission! We had two days in the office, two days of zone conference, which left two days to work in our area! I woke up with dark circles under my eyes haha. One of the days of Zone conference, there were a few newer Americans. President asked some of us Americans to translate the presentations and wow it was soooooo hard. I don't know how people translate because after about an hour I had the hugest headache. But zone conference was awesome. Sister Queiroz and I gave a training about contacting referrals because our mission had over 120 people that haven't been contacted. But after our presentation the number is down to 86 which is the lowest I have ever seen it! Still not perfect, but hey it's progress!

In other news, I am in a trio! Sister Pocock arrived from the US yesterday and is staying with us. We now have five people living in our apartment, with a strict rule that if I speak English to Sister Pocock without first asking permission, I have to give all the Brazilian Sisters $1. So far I haven't slipped up yet, which is good because I am not sure that I have any American money....

Yesterday Elizandra and Reginaldo asked us if we could hold a fast for them to quit smoking. Yes you read write, they asked us!! The faith this couple has is truly inspiring. Also, our recent convert Luiz blessed the sacrament for the first time yesterday. It was so tender. He came with a white shirt and tie and it was so amazing.

Hello everyone!!!! I have to apologize for not writing last week! I had the amazing opportunity to go to Medford and go to the temple! I am so thankful for temples and how they help us feel God's love for us! It was also awesome that I got to see my parents again for a little bit! Also Medford has an In n Out so it was overall a great day! In terms of people we are teaching we have been meeting with Deb for the past couple of weeks. In the past she has been meeting with Elders so we're the first Sisters she has met with. Deb told us she really liked meeting with Sisters because she felt she could open up and talk to us a lot more which was so good to hear! Originally she told the elders she no longer wanted to talk to missionaries because of all the switching that's been going on so I'm thankful Deb gave us a chance. Week 34: too many miracles

Olááá!!!! As the subject suggests, this week has been so so full of miracles. But the biggest miracle of all has to be our friend Zoe has decided she is going to be baptized on February 27!! We've only taught her for about a week now, but she is so prepared. We taught her the Restoration on Tuesday and I was able to tell her about Joseph Smith's first vision. Right after I finished, she looked at me with a smile so big I could see it through her mask and she said, "wow, that is amazing." Our next lesson with her was on Saturday and she told us she had prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Mormon was true and she had this overwhelming sense of peace. She read the Book of Mormon every single day since we'd last met, and she absolutely loves it. We invited her to be baptized, and she said yes!! Week 28: Staying in Springfield!

Hello everyone!  It was another crazy busy week here in Springfield! We had Zone Conference and our Mission President talked to us about the importance of having hope. We talked about how hope is an abiding trust in the Lord and that He will fulfill His promises! In times like these, we can always trust that if we are obedient and follow God's commandments, we can expect blessings! This message was extremely helpful to our friend Eve. She's had a pretty rough life, but when we talk to her about hope in Jesus Christ and how He can help her in any circumstance, there is a noticeable change in her. Hope is powerful! Also, I am not getting transferred! All three of us were really worried we were going to be split up because of all the craziness with other missionaries going home before Christmas. Thankfully, we all get to stay together for at least two more weeks and spend Christmas together!! I would love to receive any Christmas cards, and thanks to all those who have already sen...
