Week 23: We Built a Basketball Court
Olá!
This week I learned to appreciate basketball courts. This week for a service project we spent six hours putting together a portable basketball court. Each of the pieces of the court weighed about 200 pounds and we had to lift each individual part, rotate it correctly, and put it in the right spot. Despite my pro strategy of trying to lift on the same side as the Elder who is an offensive lineman for BYU, I was still wrecked by the end of the project! But at the same time it was one of my favorite service projects I've ever done. I love basketball, so knowing that other people in Klamath Falls will get to play on a nice, new court now makes me so happy! I love service, it's the best.
In terms of teaching this week we met with Deb again. She prayed out loud during our lesson for the first time and it made my whole week. Prayer is so powerful, and the fact that she is starting to pray makes me so happy I can't even express it! Prayer is amazing!
Just some other highlights of the week included the snow (I know every missionary is saying it's snowing, but I am in the only place in my mission where it will snow so I get to be excited) and getting to play the organ in a member's home! Thanks to my Music 105 class at BYU I was prepared to play Jesus Once of Humble Birth, my companion and the other Sisters were very impressed;)
I hope you all have a great week!
