Week 53: One Year Already!?!?!
Bom diaaaaa gente!
Well the title says it all, I am really an old missionary now. Thursday marked one year since I walked downstairs into my basement to start the MTC. And what a ride it has been these past twelve months. I have had the privilege to serve in the two best missions in the world, live with six amazing companions (not counting all the other sisters I lived with, but they deserve a shout out too!) make so many new friends, learn a new language (still a process), and grow closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. Never did I think my mission would change me as much as it has. My testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel and God's plan for me has been strengthened so much. We also just got transfer calls, and I am staying with Sister Queiroz another transfer and we are staying secretaries of media! But, now we are only covering one ward, so hopefully we won't have any more Sundays where we stay at the chapel from 8-8.
This week we were able to visit one of our investigators in person! He owns a hamburger restaurant and we went to visit him. We gave him a Book of Mormon and invited him to start reading it. He was super grateful and told us that he is noticing the change that is happening in his life as he is reading and talking with us! Jose is awesome. We also taught Elizandra and Reginaldo this week about the Word of Wisdom. When we brought up coffee, Elizandra said "oh I didn't know coffee was something we shouldn't drink. But now I know and won't buy it anymore" WHAT EVEN these people are so amazing!
We attempted to go on a hike this morning, and it turned out alright. We got a little lost, but no worries we eventually made it back to our apartment. Other highlights included celebrating Christmas pt. 2 (President and Sister Saucedo were sad they missed the first one, so we just decided to have another one), eating pastel, getting to walk for two hours to visit Jose, and when I became the favorite American in the office because our American AP put herbs down the sink that doesn't have a disposal ;)
Love and miss you all!
