Week 50: What's up Dog??
Oi gente!! Tudo bem??
I learned this week what the wires in our shower do! They heat the water. Monday night, my companion was taking a shower, and then all of the sudden I heard a pop and her yell "tá repreendido" While she was showering, the wires in the shower exploded-yikes. The next morning I went to take a shower and the water was freezing, and then it all made sense in my head. As sketchy as those wires are, I really am thankful for them haha.We were also invited Reginaldo and Elizandra to be baptized this week, and they said yes! They are probably two of the most humble people I have ever met. They both don't really know how to read, but they are trying to read the Book of Mormon. They are willing to change every aspect of their lives so that they can get baptized. There are a few complications with helping them get married, so any prayers on their behalf would be greatly appreciated!!
And finally, this week I was very grateful for the ability to unsend voice messages. We were talking with one of our friends, Douglas and he sent us some videos of his super cute dog. The subject also came up that I am from the United States, as it typically does whenever we talk to anyone ever. Douglas sent us two voice memos--one about his dog, and one asking me to take him to the United States (this is very common, I am very used to it at this point). Well, I got a little confused and thought he asked me if I could take his dog back to the US with me. So I answered that his dog was cute, but I couldn't take him home with me. After sending the voice memo being very proud that I sent a message without asking my companion for help on any words, she explained to me that I successfully just called our investigator a dog-typically something we try to avoid. I blame this mistake on the Office Elders who look at me and say "what's up dog?!" every time we walk into the office. So there you go, I am still quite far from fluent haha.
