Week 30: Off to Corvallis!
Olááá everyone!
Well as the subject suggests it's been a solid six weeks here in Springfield, but now I am off to the top of our mission in Corvallis! I am going to be serving on the Oregon State University campus, which I am so so excited about! I don't know that I'll be able to be a Beaver fan though so I will keep you all updated on that. On top of that, I have also been asked to serve as a Sister Training Leader! So there are a whole lot of changes happening at once which is a little overwhelming, but I have faith in God that everything is going to work out and be good! I seriously love Springfield so it is going to be sad to leave Sisters Staheli and Christensen and all the people we are teaching here.
I've also decided mission Christmas is pretty special. We had a Ward Christmas Drive through at the Church which was amazing! On Christmas Eve we went over to a family in our wards house for dinner. Our mission rules still require that we eat outside so they set up this fancy little makeshift room for us out on their deck. We then got to participate in their family nativity as the sheep-I was seriously honored. On Christmas Day we got to go see a bunch of members and go over to our friend Wende's house and celebrate with her. Despite all the festivities, this Christmas was especially special to me because I really feel like my season was more focused on Christ than it ever has been! Truly Christ brings so much joy into my life, and when we are always focused on Him, our days are better! My focus for 2021 is to focus more on Christ, and I invite you all to do the same!
A quick story before I wrap this up. We were doing service for our friend Kristoph on his birthday. We were scrubbing graffiti off the windows at the car shop he works at, and I guess Sis Chris was really putting her whole heart into this service project because she busted the window she was scrubbing right out. So Happy Birthday Kristoph! Luckily, he had some plexiglass he was able to put into the window, and then told us it was probably for the best because the new window looks way better than how our scrubbing did. So big wins.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and a Happy New Year! I'd love to hear from all of you!
