Week 8: Pooped on by a Tarantula
Olá!
It was another great week here in Klamath Falls! Sister Massey and I spent a good amount of time joining all the Klamath Falls Facebook groups we could join-including the Klamath Falls Mom group. We posted saying we are looking for any kind of outdoor service opportunities. We had a few people ask for us to come over and a whole lot of "God bless you Sisters" so it was pretty successful.
I also finally got to meet one of our investigators Gary! He recently had shoulder surgery, so the four of us and one of the members of our ward went over to do some service from him. As most of you know, missionaries always have to stay with their companion. This means they are very good at making one person jobs two person jobs. So sister Massey and I mowed Gary's lawn for him alternating every three rounds. A piece of the lawn mower kept falling off too, so if you weren't mowing you were replacing the lawnmower piece. And you better believe I was out there mowing his lawn in a dress. It was awesome.
And now as I'm sure you've all been wondering, here's what's up with my subject line. If you know me, you know I am not a fan of spiders. At all. We were at the Bishop's house and he's a biologist. He is really into snakes and spiders and stuff like that, and he keeps a bunch as pets. He also has 10 kids and they all have names from the Bible so it's a good time at their house. Anyways, they brought out their pet Tarantula to hold and I couldn't chicken out so I held the tarantula and let it crawl on me. I thought it was gross but a bunch of the kids kept saying "wow she's so pretty!" referring to Rosie the Tarantula who I was holding. Just as I was about to give her back, I felt something wet on my hand. If holding a giant spider wasn't bad enough already, this spider decided it would be a good idea to poop on me. Probably one of the grossest experiences of my life. I'm just trying to prepare for the spiders in Brazil I guess.
I hope you all have an awesome week!
