Week 5: It's the Final Countdown
Olá!!!
This seems weird to say but I only have ONE WEEK LEFT in the CTM!!! It has gone by so fast I am so sad that I am going to have to say goodbye to my amazing district and teachers, but at the same time I can not wait to get out and start teaching the people of Oregon!!
This week, Sister Esplin and I taught three lessons. It is amazing to me that I am able to express my testimony in a language I couldn't speak five weeks ago. I couldn't even introduce myself and now I feel like a 15 minute lesson is a walk in the park! People are actually understanding what I am saying and I can respond to their questions. While I am still far from perfect (see below) I know God is helping me learn Portuguese because there is no way I could do this on my own.
While my Portuguese has improved significantly over the past weeks, there are of course still tons of mistakes. This week, Sister Esplin told our "investigator" she was married instead of tired. As for me, I accidentally used a pick-up line on one of my teachers. So sorry Irmã Melo. We were practicing using the verb "precisar" which means "to need" and I must've done something wrong with my wording because what I meant to say was "please change the picture because I'm afraid of heights" and apparently that is not what I said. I'm still not sure exactly what I did say, but I'm just gonna stay away from that sentence for now.
Finally, today is the 4th of July (obviously) and because it is my pday I got to spend the day with my family! Just another blessing of being in the online CTM. We went to Saint Mary's Glacier which was awesome. Not many people can say they went sledding on the 4th as a missionary!
Happy 4th and have an awesome week!!
Com amor,
Síster Johnson

3. Sledding!
4. Sister Esplin and I had some free time so we made the best Brazilian Flag Zoom has ever seen
5. The question I ask myself every day as a missionary: What would cheesus do?
