Week 3: REASSIGNED!!

Olá Everyone!!!

Well I'll just get straight to it I'VE BEEN REASSIGNED AND I AM SO PUMPED!!! I have been assigned to the EUGENE OREGON MISSION!!!! WAHOOOOOO!! (Go ducks:)))) I report July 15 which is the week after I finish my online MTC training. And, everyone in my district is leaving that same week so they're moving us out fast! There are six missionaries in my district going to Utah, one is going to Nashville, and two to Vegas! I am so excited the people of Utah, Nevada, and Tennessee are getting the BEST MISSIONARIES!!! Also apparently I can't pronounce Eugene correctly, my family tells me I sound like Rapunzel at the end of Tangled. So if anyone has tips on how to say it right I would greatly appreciate it. I'm so excited to live in the PNW and hopefully meet some fellow Seahawks fans;)

This week we just continued to learn and teach in Portuguese. We are getting to the point where our teachers only speak Portuguese and they want us to respond in Portuguese. It is very difficult but I'm noticing I'm getting better! Sister Esplin and I also got to teach two lessons to someone who wasn't our teacher! It is so amazing to me that I still get so much practice and experience with Portuguese even though I am home right now and not in Brazil! God has a plan and He wants us to succeed. I can feel His love and His help every step of the way!

My fun Portuguese word of the week is "paralelepípido" which means cobblestone! No real significance, just fun to say.

I can't believe I am halfway done with the MTC! I am so excited to go to Oregon and teach the people there about Jesus Christ! Have a wonderful week!

Weeks 16 & 17: Temples and Car Washes!!

Hello everyone!!!! I have to apologize for not writing last week! I had the amazing opportunity to go to Medford and go to the temple! I am so thankful for temples and how they help us feel God's love for us! It was also awesome that I got to see my parents again for a little bit! Also Medford has an In n Out so it was overall a great day! In terms of people we are teaching we have been meeting with Deb for the past couple of weeks. In the past she has been meeting with Elders so we're the first Sisters she has met with. Deb told us she really liked meeting with Sisters because she felt she could open up and talk to us a lot more which was so good to hear! Originally she told the elders she no longer wanted to talk to missionaries because of all the switching that's been going on so I'm thankful Deb gave us a chance. Week 34: too many miracles

Olááá!!!! As the subject suggests, this week has been so so full of miracles. But the biggest miracle of all has to be our friend Zoe has decided she is going to be baptized on February 27!! We've only taught her for about a week now, but she is so prepared. We taught her the Restoration on Tuesday and I was able to tell her about Joseph Smith's first vision. Right after I finished, she looked at me with a smile so big I could see it through her mask and she said, "wow, that is amazing." Our next lesson with her was on Saturday and she told us she had prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Mormon was true and she had this overwhelming sense of peace. She read the Book of Mormon every single day since we'd last met, and she absolutely loves it. We invited her to be baptized, and she said yes!! Week 28: Staying in Springfield!

Hello everyone!  It was another crazy busy week here in Springfield! We had Zone Conference and our Mission President talked to us about the importance of having hope. We talked about how hope is an abiding trust in the Lord and that He will fulfill His promises! In times like these, we can always trust that if we are obedient and follow God's commandments, we can expect blessings! This message was extremely helpful to our friend Eve. She's had a pretty rough life, but when we talk to her about hope in Jesus Christ and how He can help her in any circumstance, there is a noticeable change in her. Hope is powerful! Also, I am not getting transferred! All three of us were really worried we were going to be split up because of all the craziness with other missionaries going home before Christmas.
