Week 21: I really did join the state of Jefferson

Image
Olá!!!! This week has been amazing! Our friend Deb made it to Church yesterday for the first time EVER!!! She also brought Stacy with her which is also huge because Stacy was baptized when she was younger but has never really been super active. So having them both at Church was an amazing experience. They both really liked the speaker and the meeting as a whole so hopefully they will keep coming! They both have some pretty serious health problems, but they both have said they love meeting with us and talking about Christ and it really helps them. Any prayers for Deb and Stacy would be greatly appreciated. And yes you heard it here first-I have joined the state of Jefferson. For pday last week we went to the Klamath Falls Museum and they were selling some state of Jefferson shirts so of course we had to buy one of those to support this great cause of the 51st state of the United States. Not sure really anything about it except that it's called the State of Jefferson and the flag is ...

Week 20: Car Wash Part 2!

Image
Hello Everyone!! We had Zone Conference yesterday which was amazing. We had workshops on daily planning and goal setting, family history, and working with members for Facebook posts. While Facebook finding and missionary work has changed a ton, we are getting so much more guidance now on things we can do to share the gospel. I am excited to try out some of these new ideas so hopefully we will be able to find new people to teach! We had another car wash on Saturday and it went really well! We had over 100 cars come and we were able to pass out 10 Books of Mormon. The Spanish elders were also able to get quite a few people who were interested in attending a free english class they are trying to get set up! On top of that I got an awesome chaco tan line, so I consider the car wash a success. After the car wash we headed out to a member dinner. As soon as we showed up, the kids started handing us chickens to hold. So I got to hold Fred the Rooster, please enjoy the picture below. I hope yo...

Week 19: Seahawks + Finding = best missionary work EVER

Image
Olá a todos!  This week was full of service! A lady in our ward is fixing up a house to let fire victims move in, and she asked if we could get some missionaries together to help her and her husband out! Me and some other sisters spent some time painting the ceiling! Brother Procter told us all the tips and tricks so now I am probably a pro painter.  Another service we had this weekend was picking up pinecones and pine needles in someone's yard. I was with my STL Sister Warner, and as we were finishing up the man who's house it was asked if we could go pick up the pinecones in the ditch. As we were going over, Sister Warner told me she hadn't wanted to put the pinecones from the lawn into the trash can, so she had been throwing them into the ditch instead. So that backfired a little bit. But it's okay, as we were leaving he asked us if we needed any kitchen supplies. So we walked out of his house with a kitchen aid, blender, waffle iron, popcorn popper, and more. I atta...

Week 18: I've Graduated!

Image
Hello friends and family! Another fantastic week here in Klamath Falls! Last night we got transfer news and I will be staying here in Klamath for another 6 weeks with Sister Massey so were going on a solid 18 weeks together. Wild stuff! Bit I'm officially done with my training, hence the graduation. We are so excited though because one of investigators, Deb, has a really hard time with opening up to new missionaries so hopefully this will be good for her and we can help her continue to progress!! We met with her again this week and she is continuing to love to learn about the gospel and Church members this week. Her question to us this week after finding out we spend our p days playing basketball and we make videos was "you Sisters are allowed to have fun? I didn't know that" good stuff! A little update on my daily runs with the D1 athlete because I know you all are very invested in it. Usually we just run around the track for 2-3 miles every morning, but on Saturday ...
